Liquidations & Insolvencies

Historically the firm’s focus has been on insolvencies and liquidations, with the result that the directors and staff can be considered experts, at the forefront of their field.

The firm practices throughout South Africa and the firm has cross-border experience in bankruptcy related matters.  Eugene Nel is on the panel of liquidators in Mauritius.

The firm’s expertise and experience in the insolvency field is often used by financial institutions and individuals to assist in making elections on whether to liquidate or to propose and implement a corporate recovery.  The firm’s services have also been retained by banking institutions to advise them on the liquidation process.

This entire division is geared to provide a speedy and efficient service to all creditors throughout the winding up process.  All its members of staff in the division deal with insolvency related matters all the time and as such, understand the process and the needs of creditors.  Although the firm’s Directors are all lawyers, the firm has the internal services of a competent accounting team who work in conjunction with the liquidators.  The liquidators work in teams so that there is always continuity, backup and more than one person is available to answer queries.

Since inception the firm has been involved in the winding-up of no less than 18 companies listed on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange.  The firm’s policy is to specialise in larger matters which it has done successfully and can readily state that it has handled most of the large liquidation matters in KwaZulu-Natal.  This firm has the qualifications, staff and capacity to handle the workload associated with the liquidation process.

MEET THE TEAM
